Kitchen Bakes boasts a rich heritage of baking excellence. It was established by both Harold and Gladys Mc Cullough, previous owners of West End Home Bakery for 15 years until 1977. Ten years later, Gladys discovered a market niche for uncooked frozen sausage rolls and frozen tarts. Thus the 11th March 1986 marked the launch of the Kitchen Bakes label, operating from a two roomed bakery located in Lurgan.

Given the expertise and experience that both Harold and Gladys brought to the business, sales soared and such expansion required a larger premises. Consequently, in February 1989, the first two units of the current premise based at Mahon Industrial Estate in Portadown were acquired. Following this relocation, the product range expanded into savoury pies and pastries.

In 1998, Gladys and Harold's eldest son, Dean McCullough became a partner in the business, resulting in significant advances for the company. Not only did Kitchen Bakes aquire a 3rd unit, but the product range expanded yet again to include cakes and tray bakes. Innovation did not cease at this point; Gladys and Harold's youngest son Gary also became a partner in the year 2000. The turn of the millenium saw the introduction of a new efficient van fleet, that services both fresh and frozen products all over Northern Ireland.
